RECONNAISSANCE RIDE round the 160km FLORAC circuit,the setting for the 2011 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
A classic tour that one can do again and again without ever tiring of the varied and spectacular scenery:from May to September let us be your guides round the circuit of this legendary endurance race-the most beautiful in the world!-with overnight stops at the studfarms of Persikland members and gites run by the event organisers (Béatrice and Eric Daniau at La Citerne,Jean-Paul Boudon at Le Bouquet etc.) Suitable for fit and experienced riders.We normally offer this ride over 4 days,or 3 days on special request( in this case,the second day is very long and tests the endurance of both horses and riders...).For 5 or more people, we can accompany you on your choice of dates.Possibility of superior comfort accommodation (bed & breakfasts and hotels).
Herault Beauty Spots and Knights' Templar Villages
For riders who prefer sightseeing rather than speed,Pinpin will take you,depending on the season and the amount of time you have, to visit the remarkable local sights, such as the beautiful village and abbey of St.Guilhem le Désert, the Lac du Salagou, the Cirque de Navacelles, the dew pools and the Knights' Templar villages of La Cavalerie, St.Eulalie de Cernon, Le Viala du Pas de Jaux, La Couvertoirade etc...Also possible, a trip from from the Larzac Causse to the Causse Noir to spend the night in a delightful log cabin at Randals Bisons, an American bison farm!
TRAIL RIDING WEEKEND, LARZAC - CAUSSANEL Gite - Cévennes foothills
In the Spring and Autumn, we offer this very varied 2-day ride: leaving from the Seranne Larzac Stud Farm, lunch on the first day is at the Creperie at La Couvertoirade (much better than many creperies in Brittany!). We then go on to the gite at Caussanel near Sauclières, home of breeders and Persikland members, Virginia Popper and Claude Crèche. On the second day we do a long route round the very steep and rugged slopes of the St.Guiral peak and the Lac des Pises (picnic lunch).
We also suggest various other rides according to season (looking for stags and mushrooms in the Autumn, exploring the circuits of the 2x100km Montcuq endurance race in late October,tour of Mont Lozère etc.) Please contact us.
Riders with their own horses are generally welcome on our trail rides (sorry,no stallions.)
